Please note that the measurements given in the helmet size choices are the internal circumferences. therefor when assesing the size you require you should measure whilst wearing any items you will use with the helmet e.g. an arming cap and or a maille coif. Because of the difference in the shape of the individuals skull it is suggested that a 5cm band of sheep skin can be fixed to the inside of the leather liner to give a snug fit and afford a more cusioning effect during combat. Battle Ready this helmet is a replica of a historical Spangenhelm. Made of 2 mm strong steel. The two halves of the helmet are firmly welded. The bandings are riveted to the helmet, as is the Nasal which is 3mm steel. This method of construction and the overlaping bands ensure strength and protection.
